Scientific Interest
The Phylogeny and Molecular Evolution (PEM) team jointly studies the evolution of the genotype and phenotype of organisms using bioinformatics and experimental approaches with a particular interest in new sequencing technologies. The studies are carried out on a short but also long evolutionary time (macroevolutionary and phylogenetic). A research theme led by Anna-Sophie Fiston-Lavier consists in studying molecular evolution with the impact of genetic recombination, population size and the dynamics of transposable elements.
